Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, located off the southeastern tip of India, to which it is connected by a chain of coral reefs known as Adam's Bridge. The island was formerly known as Ceylon.

Sri Lanka has been attracting travelers for centuries. Marco Polo described it as the finest island of its size in the world. This bold statement rings true. Despite its small size, Sri Lanka offers an incredible variety of attractions. The natural beauty of this ever-green island is remarkably diverse thanks to its favorable climate, and it is home to unique plant and animal species.

The landscape ranges from sandy coastal beaches—most beautiful in the south of the island—through palm groves and tea and rice fields to lush rainforests.
The sea is just as rich, especially the coral reefs, which are teeming with colorful life. Just like its nature, the island's artistic and architectural heritage never fails to impress. In the cities, you can find colonial-era buildings, while across the island lie sacred temples, shrines, and pilgrimage sites of Hindu and Buddhist traditions.
